Minutes:

This meeting was essentially a presentation by Tom, on behalf of the GrAd-Hoc 
Committee, regarding the five proposed changes to the CSE PhD program
requirements, that it had come up with. The aim of these changes is to 
accelerate the involvement of Ph.D. students in their research, to get them to
match up with an advisor as soon as possible, and to make the course-load
requirements more sensible for students from upcoming (interdisciplinary) labs
(like UI), who don't get neatly sorted into the existing areas of study.

The urgency of the presentation was due to a push to enforce some of the 
proposals by March 17 (probably around the time the new-student-visit happens).
Any comments regarding the proposals can be sent to the GrAd-Hoc Committee.

The agenda of the original meeting was postponed to be discussed to a next 
meeting.
